Sponsorship Opportunities

Invest in The HILL!

According to the 2013 NEAP results, 66% percent of our 4th graders are not learning to read proficiently. Children who can’t read well by third grade begin to fall behind, leading to frustration, behavior issues, dropouts, and the poverty/crime cycle.

The core of the problem is not that these children cannot read. Rather, it is that our schools have too often not demonstrated the skills necessary to end this national literacy crisis. Teachers and literacy leaders need consistent embedded professional development to understand the literacy assessments administered, analyze the data, group the students into needs-based instructional groups, identify appropriate instruction, and implement that instruction.

HILL for Literacy has over a decade of experience implementing a research and evidence-based whole school change model in our schools to great success. The HILL was the primary professional development provider in Massachusetts’ Reading First Program in 120 Schools as well as the Early Reading First initiatives in Boston and Chelsea, and has impacted the literacy outcomes of hundreds of schools throughout the U.S.

An investment in the HILL is an investment in our children. The need for improved literacy is great, and we seek to expand our reach and broaden our offerings, bringing more training opportunities to more schools across the country. But we can’t do it alone. The success of our work depends on the generosity of foundations and individual funders who believe in our mission and want to make a difference.
