DESCRIPTION:\n					\n						\n						\n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						July 7-August 6\n						9am-11:30am \n					\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n					\n					\n						10 Virtual Instructor-Led Sessions\n						\n					\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Adolescent Literacy Professional Learning Series strengthens teachers’ understanding of how to explicitly and effectively integrate disciplinary literacy into content area instruction\, ensuring that all students can access rigorous Tier 1 learning. \nDesigned specifically for educators in Grades 6-12\, this series provides teachers with techniques and strategies to support literacy development in their subject area in 10 virtual instructor-led modules with follow-up activities and resources. These modules address questions such as: \n\nWhat happens in the brain when we read? How can this understanding inform our instruction?\nWhat are basic\, intermediate\, and disciplinary literacy? How do these levels impact reading grade level content material?\nHow do we plan differentiated instruction to allow all students to access complex text?\nHow do we analyze instruction to determine the presence of features of effective instruction?\nWhat is the importance of vocabulary acquisition? What impact does it have on comprehension?\nWhat role does strategy instruction play?
